Completed the ceramic course at Otago Polytechnic in 1978.
Worked in Palmerston North and the Wairarapa with Jim Greg in 1979 before going to Australia in 1980.
Spent 10 years in Australia as a production thrower and Assistant to Rod Pedlar in Mclaren Vale, South Australia
Travelled throughout Canada and Europe in 1990 doing the OE, before meeting my wife and setting up a workshop and gallery in Jersey, Channel Isles, U.K.

After 8 successful years, the grass was still to be greener in New Zealand that I persuaded my wife and young family to move to Hawke’s Bay, where I have now set up a workshop in the Tuki Tuki valley.
The majority of my work is high fired (1300C) domestic ware (microwave, dish washer and oven proof).
I also make pots that range from Terracotta planters to Porcelain vases, but after tens of thousands of mugs, I still enjoy making them.

I try new ideas all the time (shapes and glazes), so that I may have a different mug to drink my coffee out of, at any time of the day

 2005 Ballantynes Contemporary Tableware Exhibition
Premier Award Winner.
