However, Paul draws a great deal from his surroundings such as
Musical images related to family musicians
and, like a voyeur, watching peoples faces. Simple abstract forms also fascinate Paul, simple processes that are gravity related such as a ball bouncing or an object falling.
Future ideas include
Practical purposes high fires stoneware, suitable for outdoors, reasonable temperate, matt & satin finishes - not high gloss. Combinations of materials such as glass ceramics water features - he also hopes to do more of.
Working in clay is no great mystery
Paul says modestly. It's an idea that is an evolution of previous ideas, a logical process of resolving and refining an idea. You can the reinterpret it in different ways by maturing and fine tuning your work.
Paul's musicians have been the most favoured.
Peoples reactions of enjoyment and interpretation to their own lives is what Paul enjoys the most. For example his 5 piece jazz quintet you can imagine with a female singer (Ella Fitzgerald), Nigel Kennedy as the violinist. Set them up on their own little stage with sound and spot lights they can have their own concerts and they will never play a false note!
