Judith Moreton was born in Palmerston North and has painted professionally for 32 years. Her first exhibition in 1970, was a complete sellout and she has exhibited successfully in many New Zealand Galleries solo and as guest Artist since.

Judith has had no formal training, developing and achieving her own individual style and technique. For this she has gained considerable recognition and following. Her works are very sought after, her top price being $15,000. Ther is always a waiting list for commissions. Her paintings are held in collections throughout the world.

The very individual technique in oil she has developed, is impasto (undiluted), the paint applied with sable brushes and kept wet while painting is in progress to gain the fine detail and 3D effect created.

Judith's love is New Zealand Landscape, mainly bush, stream and kauri as well as all aspects of sea scapes.

One of her latest achievements, in a rarely for her entered world wide competition is first prize. Details are in the Febraury  2007 issue of International Artist Magazine.
