BEN HO Curriculum Vitae

1962 Started studies with Chinese painting techniques

1969 Paintings exhibited in the Canton Taijin Childrens Fine Art Exhibition

1974 Paintings exhibited in the Fine Art Exhibition managed by Haizhu District Culture Gallery in Canton.

1977 Canton Fine Art school and graduated.

1978-1984 Post graduate Art study.

1988 Emigrated to New Zealand, obtained permanent residency and became a New Zealand citizen
Participated in seven separate exhibitions in the North Island

May 192 Became a working member of the New Zealand Fellowship of Artists Inc

June 1992 Commenced giving tutorials in watercolour and oil painting through different art groups around Auckland

1992 Two different combined exhibitions, Wellington and Auckland with Mary Mai (Bens wife)

April 1993 First place, watercolour section, Royal Easter Show.
Four additional Awards in art competitions

April 1995 Winner of the Otago Regional Council Art Award.
(This painting now hangs in the Council Offices)

August 1995 First solo exhibition in Auckland, followed by another in Wellington

April 1996 Won three awards at the Royal Easter Show:
Gold Medal Award
KG Fraser Art Award
The New Zealand Herald Award

August 1996 Exhibited in the Asian Pacific Watercolour Painting Exhibition in Taipei.

April 1997 Judged the Royal Easter Show Art Exhibition

May 1997 3rd Prize winner in open category New Zealand Art Competition 1997 By Windsor and Newton Art Material Retailers and Caidwell Wholesale Ltd

June 1997 Solo exhibition in Auckland Downtown Hilton Gallery

August 1997 A Feature Article Think Light and The Shadows Will Make Everything Beautiful is a highlight in the Australian Artist Magazine

February 1998 Judge in Thames Art Competition

April 1998 First Place in Perfectional Category of Royal Easter Show Art Competition

Merit Award winner in Lake Taupo Open Art Awards

May 1998 Shared Exhibition in London with other New Zealand Artists

March 1999 A Feature Article The Big Four- Colour, Light, Brushwork and Design is a highlight in International Artist Magazine Australia.

April 1999 One of the five Artists representing New Zealand Art in the World-Wide Millenium Painting Competition in London chosen by Windsor and Newton.
