"Jane was born in Auckland in 1969 and began water colour painting at age eleven. As an adult encouraged by her mentor Selwyn Wilson she began selling her work. Firstly through the NZ Fellowship of Artists in 1996, when her children were little. Then after a few years in 2001, painting became Jane’s full time profession.
Galleries have since sold and exhibited her work and it has been published in numerous forms. In 2006, Live Wires first published her paintings in the form of cards and have added new images since as they have been very popular. Jane's was included in a calendar, “12 Contemporary Artists” with her “My Land” image on the front cover. That year her work was also in the book “New Zealand’s Favourite Artists”. Jane decided to do her own calendar in 2007 and released "Summertime", she was asked to put forward work to become part of "NZ - A Painted Country" by Denis Robinson. This book depicts an Artists favourite part of New Zealand, Jane chose Mimiwhangata which was selected. In 2007 her first giclees were released for sale, along with another "Summertime" calendar. Tshirts featuring Jane's work will be released by NZ Nature Company later this year and a visitors book in 2009. Jane is self taught and sees her work more as a passion, loving the beauty she sees in New Zealand and wanting to share it with others. Her work is held in private collections in New Zealand and worldwide."
