 (b 1943). Born in Auckland, Dick studied at University of Canterbury School of Fine Art from 1960-64 under Rudi Gopas and Russell Clark, as well as at Auckland Teachers College. He describes himself as an imagist, often including humorous elements in his paintings (playing with New Zealand iconic images).  

His Styles range from pop art to traditional landscapes to abstract works. In addition to working as a commercial artist, film animator (Creator of the Chesdale cheese men  and Four Square man of advertising fame), book illustrator and advertising director, he has been a part time lecturer at Elam School of Fine Art.
